HOW TO GET THE 9.0 IN IELTS READING

If you want to score maximum, you need to have a clean idea of this reading exam criteria.

The reading test will have three passages and a total of 40 questions. Candidates must complete the reading passage within 60 minutes. No extra time is given to transfer answers to the answer sheet (in listening test candidates are given 10 minutes extra to transfer their answers from the question paper to the answer sheets). Candidates get one mark for each correct answers.
In academic reading, all the three passages will be taken from authentic factual texts, sourced from magazines, research papers and newspapers. Generally, the passages will be progressively more difficult with the first text being the easiest and the last passage being the hardest

GENERAL TIPS TO GET A HIGH SCORE:

• Skimming and scanning – skimming is a quick reading and understanding. When you skim, you underline the proper noun and dates or days etc.
• Scanning is detailed reading around the key words that you have already noticed from your skim reading.
• Understanding synonyms –learning synonyms will certainly help a candidate to score high.
• Understanding paraphrases.
• Reading newspapers, journals, articles, research papers will definitely give
  the candidate an edge.
